Infogrid Pacific To Provide Enterprise Content Management System In
Brunei Darussalam
Singapore 15 Mar 2007
Singapore, 15 March 2007 – Infogrid Pacific Pte. Ltd. (“Infogrid Pacific”), a leading ECMS Solutions Provider in Asia, announced today that it has inked a deal with Brunei Darussalam’s Ministry of Education (“MOE”) to supply the Content Management System and digitization services for the MOE Virtual Integrated Library Information System (VILIS).
Working with local prime contractor, Alif Technologies Sdn Bhd (“Alif Technologies”), Infogrid Pacific is one of the sub-contractors selected to develop and implement the BND $11 million VILIS for Brunei’s Ministry of Education. This project is expected to take nine months starting from March 2007.
Infogrid Pacific had an earlier successful partnership with Alif Technologies providing the Digital Collection System and digitization services in English, Malay and Arabic for the eLibrary for the University of Brunei Darussalam in 2006.
The VILIS project, was initiated by the MOE with the aim of meeting the needs of education and teaching professionals throughout Brunei for information and library services by providing convenient, timely access to relevant information. As such, Infogrid Pacific will deploy IGP:ECMS Solutions fully populated with digitally reformatted content for the nation-wide framework.
Infogrid Pacific will be digitizing over 250,000 mixed genre content items including curriculum assets, administrative and legal information, cultural and research content, manuscripts and an extensive collection of video material for online access. Imaging and metadata services will be carried out by a local team in Brunei with the XML digital reformatting and other format production being carried out in India. The production work will be carried out using IGP:Production Solutions, a powerful distributed content production suite that allows seamless multi-location production.
The project will deploy a full digital preservation archive using IGP:Repository, and IGP:InfoViewer 2 to provide the multi-site interfaces required to service the various user community requirements. This advanced solution includes integrated multi-language Information Design tools to systemize the complex task of defining access and controls for tens of thousands of users across dozens of content genres.
In addition to deploying the ECMS applications, a full digitization laboratory using IGP:Production Solutions will be installed for the MOE.
Mr Richard Pipe, CEO of Infogrid Pacific said, “We are privileged to be involved in Brunei Darussalam’s eService project development. With our past successes in building similar projects of such complexity, we can capitalise on our expertise to develop VILIS to achieve the quality and flexibility required for such a large-scale, multi-consumer content delivery system.
With the successful rollout of the eLibrary Digital Collection System and the development of VILIS in the pipeline, Infogrid Pacific have carved out a niche as being the only full solution provider of multi-function ECMS solutions and services for education, libraries, museums and archives in Asia.
