AZARDI Content Fulfilment now supports Periodical Subscription purchase. This is a major new feature release addressing new ways to do business with digital content.

AZARDI:Content Fulfilment (ACF) now has Periodical Subscription Purchases added to the product business models. There are now six business models available with ACF and AZARDI e-book reading systems:

  1. Sell a Book
  2. Sell a Book Subscription
  3. Sell a Book Collection
  4. Sell a Book Collection Subscription
  5. Lend a book (Library model)
  6. Sell a Periodical Subscription

In addition to the core sales models the transaction models include:

  1. Online purchase
  2. Institutional bulk purchase
  3. Redeemable coupon access
  4. Registered institution library access.

Periodical Subscriptions

A periodical subscription delivers a number of issues to a user on a periodic basis for the duration of the subscription. Periodicals can be daily (newspapers), weekly, monthly or any other frequency. They can also be delivered "when-ready" (Business reports) without a fixed calendar rhythm.

What emerged from the development process was that subscriptions with digital content can be very flexible. ACF creates a subscription product with an empty subscription container. At the time the subscription is purchased there is nothing in that container.

As issues are released they are added to the subscription container and these are delivered to the end user. It is up to the publisher to control the timing of adding the ongoing issues. The system delivers anything that is added to a date valid subscriber.

The same subscription container can be used in multiple periodical subscription products. For example there may be a requirement for different pricing for a one, two and three year subscription to a monthly magazine.

With digital content delivery systems subscription can be more flexible than the print/post delivery method. What emerged was the "drop something in the subscription container" method was also very good for courseware and allowed testing, exercise and additional resources to be added at any time as well as scheduled courseware content.

White Label Reader Branding

AZARDI:Content Fulfilment is designed to empower appropriate publishers to establish their own branded e-book reading presence with the controlled delivery of any publisher content to a target vertical market or institution(s) to installed AZARDI Reading Systems.

AZARDI Reading systems can be white-label branded as a publisher or institution desktop, mobile app or browser reader. They then control the reading systems on the various app stores and from their sites. The publisher has complete control.

Some publishers want more extensive customization. AZARDI reading systems are designed to accommodate that as well.

Summary

AZARDI:Content Fulfilment continues to empower new digital content business models for publishers of all types. It supports standard ePub and ePub3 books including rich media, JavaScript interactivity and adaptive presentation in any device screen size or aspect ratio. Publishers can go to market with their content in their brand for their markets.

The new periodical subscription model brings a new business option to publishers of periodicals of any type: magazines, newsletters, journals and courseware are just some of the options.

The publisher's content is delivered and updated securely in a reading system with the publisher's unique branding. The Infogrid Pacific AZARDI:Content Fulfilment strategy is to empower publishers to do more with their digital content while exploiting existing and building new business models.

AZARDI means freedom and it delivers that for any publisher.
