IGP:Digital Publisher (DP), Version 7.0.0 has been released. This update  includes two interesting major features and tools plus a few standard updates and general bug fixes.

Here are the exciting new features.

Design Library in IGP:Document Designer (DD)

Design Library is a new feature introduced in IGP:Document Designer that leverages flexible CSS to the FoundationXHTML tagging patterns . The Design Library allows a publisher to create and store any number of document designs and reuse them instantly as required. We have already posted about this here. Analyse and Process Non-ASCII Languages

As we work with more and more education publishers delivering content in different and mixed languages the mighty lang="XX" attribute comes to the fore.

This character set identification tool is able to isolate non-Latin characters into specific language Unicode table sets. When content is cut-and-paste from a PDF this makes it fast and easy to tag words and phrases in S.E.Asian and Asian languages in particular.

In the first release this feature will support ninety seven (97) languages.

A new sub-section named Analyse and Process Non-ASCII Languages is now added to Content Tools interface.

This is a two phased process:

Phase 1: Check Languages - Detects languages and displays the possible language codes. The characters are highlighted in Writer. Example

jade stone insect female tree mouth

Phase 2: Process Languages - Processes the user supplied language code. In the example the Chinese characters have each had lang="zh" and custom styles applied.
