IGP:Digital Publisher now has an amazingly powerful REMIX feature. The unique feature of the Digital Publisher REMIX feature is that it allows remixing of print editions and reflowable and fixed layout ePubs.
You can remix entire books, or just individual sections.
There are many uses for remixing digital content. Just some of them are:
The new Remix feature in IGP:Digital Publisher lets you add complete books, or book sections to a "Mixmark" list (that's a sort of bookmark list).
These can be organized into categories and can be used instantly at any time.
For licensees who want to know more, or the idly curious the user manual for IGP:Digital Publisher REMIX information is available on the LEARN@IGP IGP:Digital Publisher site.
Some readers may know that IGP:Digital Publisher supports Design Profiles. You can read about Design Profiles here. Design profiles means any number of different print or e-book editions can be instantly produced from the application.
REMIX also handles multiple Design Profiles. When a book or section is remixed into another book all the Design Profile components, custom CSS, typography adjustments and more are remixed along with the content for each edition.
This means the remixed editions are instantly ready for business in multiple formats.
A massive feature like REMIX needs large-scale testing. We used the 13 volumes of Guy de Maupassant Short Stories as our test set with multiple editions all being remixed.
The test cases have the following design profile formats:
Shortly we will be putting all these books online for the reading pleasure of all in whatever format you prefer. In addition to the 13 Volumes there will be three REMIX editions:
The remix editions will be available in the same five formats as the 13 individual editions. Watch this space!
