IGP:Digital Publisher and the powerful AZARDI Interactive Engine are proven production solutions for the creation of powerful Question & Answer learning tools in multiple delivery packages: Print, E-Books, Websites and more from one master XHTML format. Digitize Once, Use Forever.

Questions and Answers (Q&A) are a very powerful digital content teaching and learning tool.

In print textbooks Q&A tend to be exercises and tests and are rigidly formatted that way. With digital content Q&A presentation can be dramatically changed to create a more exciting engagement for the learner and can become learning tools.

Quetion and Answer Meme. For the best way to create and use content to TEACH, LEARN & EXPLORE. IGP:Digital Publisher with AZARDI:Interactive Engine

The Standard AIE Q&A Models

The AZARDI Interactive Engine supports ten  types of Q&A to make creating learning content flexible and easy. It includes evaluation. If you get the right answer it lets you know. If you get the answer wrong it messages appropriately with optional reinforcing information.

The AZARDI Interactive Engine (AIE) was designed to make creating interactive teaching and learning content straight-forward in any/all languages, including multi-language environments. It has been used to create interactive learning in a wide range of Asian (scripts & logographs)  as well as latin languages.

These are very different from most online Q&A approaches in that AIE Q&A uses a structured framework of HTML5 and CSS3 to which the Javascript is applied. This means the HTML and CSS can be easily customized and modifed on a question by question basis while retaining multi-language (alphabets, scripts and ideographs) accessibility. More on that later.

The Traditional Use of Q&A

Importantly AIE Q&A can be used for print books AND interactive e-books. This really matters in a lot of environments that don't have full Internet connectivity. Because of the tagging patterns AIE Q&A can be used for printable question papers, answer sheets and marking sheets.

Here are downloadable examples of that:

Printable Question Paper (PDF download)

Printable Answer Sheet (PDF download)

Printable Marking Sheet (PDF download)

Interactive EPUB 3. (EPUB3 download)

The EPUB 3 contains downloads for the PDF's as well. The important thing to understand is ALL the files have been created from the same master IGP:FoundationXHTML in IGP:Digital Publisher. Any edits or changes to the questions and answers are fully available in all formats; instantly.

This underlines the fact that with digital content production it is not just why and what you do, but HOW you do it that is very important.

QAA Sets

AIE Q&A goes a lot further than just having nine different Q&A options. The Q&As can be combined into Sets which makes them:

  1. Available as student self-evaluated digital tests (as in the examples above) in an EPUB or as an Online self-test.
  2. AND/OR submitted online for instructor evaluation as a formal test.  (Semi-LMS).
  3. AND/OR available as print tests if digital resources are not available, or in mixed digital/print environments.

And In Conclusion

AIE Q&A has the clear objective of empowering publishers to easily and affordably create learning and testing resources for learning/teaching environments in every country or region and in every language.
